The final chapter of Cristiano Ronaldo’s signature boot collection is here. Dubbed “CR7 Chapters,” a new colorway of his Mercurial Superfly has released every season starting from late 2015, telling a story about a certain point in his career. As Cristiano said himself, “the boots reflect what I am. They put part of my history in the boots.” This week, Nike have revealed his final one: “Built on Dreams.” Let’s get into the details and how you can purchase them for yourself.
Telling the story of his athletic journey from the very beginning, Nike announced in October of 2015 that they would be creating seven chapters of the Mercurial Superfly for their poster boy, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Chapter one, known as “Savage Beauty,” took its cues from Madeira, the volcanic Portuguese island where CR7 was born.
Chapter two, known as “Natural Diamond,” focuses on Ronaldo’s move away from home as a child to pursue his dream of becoming a professional footballer. He has called leaving home at the age of 12 the “most difficult part of my career so far.”
Chapter three, known as “Discovery,” took inspiration from the game Ronaldo played for his Lisbon club that ended with him signing with Manchester United—a move that changed his career forever. 
Chapter four, known as “Forged for Greatness,” recalls his shift to wearing the number seven; this was insisted by his manager at the time, Alex Ferguson. As a result, Ronaldo forged his game and physique during his many years in Manchester. 
Chapter five, known as “Cut to Brilliance,” was inspired by Ronaldo’s brilliance on the pitch and unmatched goal scoring. He scored in his first game with Real Madrid in 2009 and hasn’t stopped scoring since, becoming the fastest to score league goals at every imaginable milestone: 50, 150, 200, 250 and counting.
Chapter six, known as “Born Leader,” nods to his record for most captaincies of his country, Portugal. Ronaldo captained Portugal for the first time on February 6, 2007, at just 22 years old. “Born Leader” focuses on his role as the captain of his national team.
Chapter seven, known as “Built on Dreams,” is the culmination of the storytelling and pays homage to the player’s number 7 in the forefoot graphic, and also nods to the memorable carbon fiber boots of the past.
